During Matthew Giddy’s tenure as General Manager of FDC Construction and Fitout they negotiated the right to Design and Construct the first Virgin Active Health Club in Australia at Frenchs Forest. Matthews role at the time required the overseeing of approx $100M worth of construction including this project. It was during this project that Matthew launched GIDDIS Project Management and upon the unexpected departure of the FDC Project Manager GIDDIS stepped into the PM role to complete the design and construction of the project for FDC.

The scope included the design, partial demolition, reconstruction and fitout of the new Health Club. All facets of construction project management including staffing, programming, trade letting, trade supervision, cost control, OH&S and final certification were provided.

This project was delivered on a fast track open book method which saw the club designed, procured and built within 8 months of commencement. This project was subsequently awarded an MBA Excellence in Building Award in 2009.
